About the Author
In 2001, 31-year-old Lance Gettler sold everything he owned, bought a sailboat sight unseen, and set out to circumnavigate the globe. With only one sailing experience nine years earlier, he bravely planned a daring adventure that some seasoned sailors wouldn’t even attempt. Then in 2005 Lance and his non-sailor brother set out in his 41′ ketch to achieve his dream, and he never looked back. Since then, in 2011 alone he logged more than 12,000 nm at sea aboard three different sailboats.
Lance is now a professional yacht delivery captain serving customers worldwide, and he is the author of a series of exciting but practical books on sailing available through Amazon. When in port, he lives aboard a 41′ sailboat in the Caribbean fitting and repairing other vessels. Active in the sport fishing industry, Lance and his brother live off what they catch while at sea, which is the subject of his forthcoming book Fishing to Live.
